Vibe Coder Simulator — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-09-28

Vibe Coder Simulator (com.EthanGreer.VibeCoderSimulator) is a single-player idle and tycoon game. This policy explains what the app does with your information.

The game works fully without sending anything. Two optional features use the network: gameplay statistics (only if you agree) and Studio Invite (only if you use it). Neither collects your name, email address, contacts, precise location or advertising identifier. You can change your analytics answer and delete your server data at any time in PROMPTS → Angels → Privacy & data.

Who is responsible

EG Games (Ethan Greer) is the data controller. Contact details are at the end of this policy.

1. Gameplay statistics (optional)

After the tutorial, the game asks whether it may send gameplay statistics to Unity Analytics, a service of Unity Technologies. Nothing is sent before you answer, and nothing is sent if you say no. If you agree, the game sends events such as a session start and end, a finished tutorial, a shipped project, a world reached, a feature used, a rewarded video watched, or a store purchase. Unity attaches a random player ID, a device and installation identifier, the device model and operating system, and an approximate country derived from the network connection.

Purpose: to understand how the game is played and improve it. It is not used for advertising or to track you across other apps. Legal basis: your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time. Retention: as set by Unity; you can ask Unity to erase it with the in-game Delete my data button. Unity's handling is described in the Unity Game Player and App User Privacy Policy.

2. Studio Invite (optional)

Studio Invite lets you share a code with a friend. The first time you open it, the game creates an anonymous account on our server (hosted by Supabase in the European Union): a random ID with no name, email or password. The server stores only that random ID, your invite code, which code you redeemed (if any), when you redeemed it, when your invited friend completed their first Brainstorm, and a short record of code attempts used to stop code guessing.

Purpose: to run the invite feature and grant its cosmetic rewards. Legal basis: performance of the feature you asked to use (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)). Retention: code-attempt records are deleted after 7 days; an invite account that has not been used for 13 months is deleted with all its data; the in-game Delete my data button deletes it at once. Players who never open Studio Invite have no server account.

Each invite code has its own page, eggames.dev/invite/CODE. When someone opens it, the server adds one to a daily count for that code and the place it was shared from (for example the Room or a milestone). It stores no IP address, cookie, device or visitor identifier, so a visit is not linked to anyone. The counts follow the same 13-month retention.

When you share your code, the game opens your device's share sheet. The game does not read your contacts and does not see who you share with.

3. Purchases

In-app purchases are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). The game receives only which product was bought and a transaction ID, to unlock it in your save. It never sees your payment details.

4. Share setup

Share setup makes a picture of your room on your device and opens the system share sheet. The game does not upload it. On iOS the game asks for permission only to add images to Photos if you choose Save Image; it cannot read your photo library.

How your game is saved

Your progress is written only to the app's private storage on your device (Application.persistentDataPath). The save never leaves the device. It carries an HMAC-SHA256 integrity check so a corrupted or altered save is detected rather than loaded silently. Uninstalling the app removes the save.

Notifications

Reminders are local notifications scheduled by your device from its own clock. No push service or push token is used. The game asks only after something worth being reminded about has happened, and you can turn them off at any time in your device settings.

Service providers and transfers

We use Unity Technologies (analytics, with consent), Supabase (invite server, EU region), and Apple and Google (purchases and app distribution). Each acts under its own data processing terms. Where data leaves the UK or EEA, for example to Unity in the United States, the transfer relies on the provider's Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision. The app contains no advertising network, no crash reporter and no cross-app tracking. No data is sold.

Children

The game is for a general audience. It collects no name, contact detail or precise location from anyone. Analytics runs only after the consent prompt is accepted, and Studio Invite uses a random ID only. If you are under the age of digital consent in your country, ask a parent before you turn on analytics sharing.

Your rights under the GDPR and similar laws

You have the right to access, correct, delete and port your personal data, to withdraw consent, to object, and to complain to a supervisory authority (in the UK, the ICO; in the EU, your local data protection authority).

Changes to this policy

This policy is updated when the app changes in a way that affects it. The "last updated" date above shows the latest revision, and material changes are described in the store release notes.
